A BLESSED BIBLE CONFERENCE

Oakton ministry held a virtual online summer Bible conference on July 9-11. We chose the title of the conference; unity and love based on 1Corinthians 13:4: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”  As our prayer for God’s hand of blessing Oakton fellowship members met for prayer twice a week for two weeks. Each day there was a representative reflection sharer based on the daily bread passage along with sharing prayer topics and then ended the meeting with prayer.

The first day of the conference began with greeting and welcoming of guest participants. Ruyani who is from Canada Dayani’s cousin, along with Hsaioling Chang and Sarah Lee from Taiwan and Shepherd James and Missionary Teresa Kim from Korea attended our conference. Afterwards, we held group Bible study in two groups led by Missionary Mary Park and Shepherdess Dayani Pieri on Daniel chapter 9. After group Bible study the Friday program began with a song by Lailani and Bianca Gava. Then we heard Bible testimonies from Missionary Rebekah Chung’s bible students from Taiwan shared by Hsaioling Chang and Sarah Lee. After that we had greetings Shepherd James Kim and Missionary Teresa Kim who joined on Friday night greeted us and shared their prayer topics.

On Saturday morning there was a Daniel 9 symposium. Three messengers shared their messages on Daniel chapter 9. The first message on Daniel 9:1-3, Daniel’s Bible study was shared by Jeremy Alfaro. The second message was delivered by Nek on Daniel 9:4-14 on Daniel’s prayer. The third message was delivered by Albert Pieri on Daniel 9:15-19 with the title, “Asking for mercy in God’s character.” After the messages we heard a life testimony given by Missionary Elijah Park. Then from 3:00pm to 5:00pm we met for group Bible study in two groups led by Missionary Sarah Magardician and Shepherd Dennis Miller.

We gathered at 6:30 for the evening program with prayer by Missionary Sarah Magardician, a special song by April Cho and then the evening message delivered by Jack Magardician based on the conference theme, “Unity and Love on 1Corinthians 12:31b-13:13. Afterwards a life testimony was given by Missionary Mark Baek.

 Then for our Sunday worship service Shepherdess Dayani Pieri delivered a brief 10 minute message on John 21:15-17, along with a song by Lailani and Bianca Gava. Afterwards, we had a Bible reflection symposium where everyone shared their reflections based on the Bible passages from the conference. Then in the middle of the symposium Shepherdess Dayani prepared a very beautiful song out of her sincere prayer for Lydia to be healed of her sickness.

 I thank and praise God for his mighty and powerful work through this conference. I am greatly and deeply thankful for the support and prayers of all our Oakton coworkers in serving and blessing this Summer Bible conference. I am thankful for the great love and prayers of our Oakton coworkers in accepting me as the new Oakton coordinator only by God’s one sided grace. I pray that God may accept this conference as our sincere prayer for the raising of 12 disciples of Jesus and 12 mothers of prayer.
