(Grace Park, Chicago UBF)

God gave me inspiration to celebrate mothers on Mother’s Day as a prayer for mothers to be encouraged and refreshed through simple fellowship, food and care by the church. In years past, some women and HBF used to make pin corsages for the moms on Mother’s Day. I was reminded of that and thought that this could be a good opportunity to regather with some women to make flowers. Staff wives and elders wives came Saturday afternoon to arrange the flowers and CBF children volunteered to help (since they were in the building). It was a nice time of fellowship as we served together.

Different women prepared the food Sunday morning for a light brunch before service. Almost forty women came, from first time moms to veteran moms and we could discuss some joys and challenges of motherhood as we ate together.

God created the body of Christ to gather together and by creating opportunities to regather, we can be reminded of the beauty of the church family.
