On April 11, 2025, Oakton Fellowship held a heartwarming Easter event at the Skokie campus of Oakton College, drawing in new students through a creative QR code registration. The day began with a moving scene from The Chosen, portraying Jesus raising Lazarus, setting a powerful tone for reflection. After a shared lunch, student leaders led group Bible studies, followed by a personal and impactful testimony from Oscar Cortes, president of the Mission Bible Club, who also prepared a resurrection message. Attendees then wrote and shared testimonies, including heartfelt reflections from Gia, Katherine Vega, Mark Pamati (club advisor), and Oscar’s father. A fun calligraphy session added a creative touch, and the event concluded with a meaningful skit, “Jesus Raised Lazarus,” performed by Mark Mederich. Of the 48 who registered, 38 participated—17 of whom were students—and Pastor Mark and Kathy Vucekovich graced the event with their presence. Through this Easter celebration, students experienced the life-giving power of Jesus’ resurrection and witnessed the joy of sharing faith in community.
